My vision

Vision on Team Development

Teams are the most important building blocks in an organization to achieve goals. At the same time, the talent of an individual determines the contribution to the team. In my view, achieving results in teams requires development of several aspects. Personal development of team members focused on the use of everyone's talent, development of the leader as a person and in your role, and the interaction patterns of the team. Attention to these aspects creates a trusted result-oriented team. 

Team development also focuses on the task that the team has and the context in which it must be done. Teams realize a service or product at team level with specific expertise. This requires clear goals, the commitment of everyone's talent and appropriate leadership.  A 'trusted team' is characterized by being able to combine all available expertise and talents. Leadership that meets the needs of the team facilitates this process, so that the task is completed with pleasure and success.


The profit of a 'Trusted Team'

  1. Team members organize their work in such a way that the results contribute to the joint task;
  2. Team members know each other's expertise, talents and dependencies. They use those effectively;
  3. In a trusted team, team members can be vulnerable and there is courage to constantly learn as a team in a rapidly changing context;
  4. No hesitation for 'healthy conflicts'. Team members also have the tough conversations;
  5. Every voice, even different, is valuable. This produces both results and connection;
  6. Team members make transparent and supported decisions in the service of the assignment;
  7. In your role as leader of a trusted team, you tolerate the tension, manage what is needed at the moment to realise the assignment;
  8. You take well-supported decisions when faced with paradoxical issues.
